Biography

François-Pierre Goy, born 1960 in Troyes, is since 1995 working as curator at the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris, first in the department of audiovisual media, later in the music department. In his musicological research he focuses mainly on seventeenth-century music for plucked strings and Viola da Gamba, and also on the exchange of repertoire between the instruments by way of transcription or parody.

From 1986 to 1992 he collaborated under the direction of Monique Rollin on the edition of several volumes of the Corpus des luthistes français (Éditions du Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique CNRS), following this he collaborated on the catalogue project Sources musicales en tablature (SMT) under the direction von Christian Meyer. In his preferred field of study he has published articles, editions of sources and of works. Furthermore he has written the catalogue of the ancient musical inventory of the region Champagne-Ardenne for the series Patrimonie musical régional.
